Mendenhall Ice Caves of Juneau in Alaska, United States

The main activities in the Mendenhall Ice Caves :
- Hiking
- Mountain climbing
- Helicopter rides
- Getting Married

The magic in the Mendenhall Ice Caves, where water runs over rocks under blue ceilings inside a partially hollow glacier.
The Mendenhall Glacier is a 12-mile-long glacier in the Mendenhall Valley, located only 12 miles from downtown Juneau in Southeast Alaska. Federally protected as part of the Mendenhall Galcier Recreation Area, a unit of the Tongass National Forest, the glacier originally had two names, Sitaantaagu ("Glacier Behind the Town") and Aak'wtaaksit ("Glacier Behind the Little Lake").
The Ice Caves are inside the glacier, accessible only to those willing to kayak to, and then ice climb over the glacier. However, the glacier is retreating increasingly fast as global warming heats the oceans and temperatures rise.
Monitored since 1942 by the Juneau Icefield Rsearch Program, the Mendenhall Glacier has receded almost 2 miles since 1958, while previously it had receded only 0.5 miles since 1500. The caves are in part a function of this increased glacial melting.

Images of the caves circulate the internet with such captions as "otherworldly" and "surreal," but "melting" and "fleeting" could be used as well, as this glacier creates incredible new landscapes while we watch it melt  away.

Tulip Fields In The Netherlands

Tulip Field

Flower in Holland
The striking colors of the flowering tulip bulbs are a typical sight in Holland during the spring. The bright red, pink and yellow colors are overwhelmingly beautiful and are a must see, or should we say, a must experience!

Flower Fields Season
From the end of March until the second  week of May the flowers in the bulb fields bloom. It goes without saying that the exact period depends on the weather. Generally speaking, the best time is the second half of April.
At the end of March the crocus season starts. The daffodils and early and small tulips are next, from the beginning of April. From mid-April the daffodils and the hyacinths bloom. Finally, from mid April until the first week in May the tulips show off their glorious colors.

Bulb Field Regions
The best-known bulb fields are located behind the North Sea dunes, between the cities of Leiden and Den Helder. Other bulb fields, just as lovely, are situated near Enkhuizen (Bovenkarspel, Andijk) and in the province of Flevoland (Noordoost Polder, Oostelijk Flevoland). Walking, cycling and car routes are available from the local tourist information offices in the bulb field regions.

Cycle along the Tulips
The millions of bicycles in Holland are another trademark. Therefore, what better way to enjoy the lovely fragrances, the local culture and being part of this colorful landscape than to cycle through it? While marveling at the unique views, the winding routes through the fields take you from the historic town of Leiden to the beautiful city of Haarlem. A visit to the world-famous Keukenhof will give you plenty opportunities to take that beautiful shot

Keukenhof
Keukenhof is an unforgettable experience for people of all ages. The historic park with more than 2700 trees covers an area of thirty-two hectares, full of tulips, hyacinths, daffodils and all the other spring bulbs. They have the Hamlin (sweet orange cultivated in Florida and one of the more popular types found in the US market) and Ponkan (chinese honey orange) varities. There are also rough lemons and american lemons. The former are of Indian origin (foothills of the Himalayas); they yield little juice and pulp but they can be used for home decors. The latter is the regular lemon we see here in the supermarket.

Caving
There are more than 60 known caves in Sagada. The biggest and arguably the most popular is Sumaging. It takes about 2-3 hours to complete the cave adventure here. Find yourself surrounded by extra-ordinary rock formations and pristine waters. For those with will (and leg) power, the cave connection is the way to best experience these underground wonders. How does it work? Well, you enter the Lumiang cave (burial cave) and then exit at the Sumaguing cave. The entire connection takes about three to four hours to finish. Be prepared to crouch, crawl and squeeze yourself in tiny and awkward spaces. There are at least three rope-assisted descents plus one "climb". Roots of the Kapok Tree
Does anyone remember when mattresses used to be filled with kapok – the white cotton-like material? These came from the fruit of the kapok tree, just like one behind the Botany Centre. But the real reason we like this kapok tree is because kids love balancing on its broad roots and make their away across as if on a tightrope.

Throngs of people coming out to the Palm Valley to enjoy the cool of the evening with music enlivening the air.
